Trump’s Seriously Weird Political Meltdown

TRUMP’S PRECIPITOUS FALL from grace, not to mention from sanity itself, is accelerating at a pace now that can leave one, not just staggered and almost breathless at times, but deeply troubled for America. How can any person of power be so complicit in bringing about his own political demise? The man is shockingly brazen beyond all reason — we can give him that — but his brazenness is so glaringly idiotic as to defy any and every calculated political strategy ever created in American (and maybe even world) history to date.

Trump obviously is listening to no one as he goes about doing what he is doing. He openly dines with Neo-Nazis and Q-Anon conspiracists as if that is perfectly fine. He refuses to turn over every last one of the classified documents he has illegally retained, virtually forcing his own legal team of lawyers to hire out a search squad in an effort to finally get to the bottom of the matter, a matter for which he is now facing a contempt charge (which will serve him all too right). But to write for all to read in black and white that he genuinely thinks the U.S. Constitution should be thrown out and him reinstated as president goes so far beyond any political sense as to surely leave even his most ardent supporters gasping in wonderment. “Did he really say that?” they must be thinking. “Throw out the Constitution? Throw out the Second Amendment? Can he really mean that?”

Yes, he can because he is Donald Trump and if there is one thing the man does better than virtually anyone else, it is to throw all manner of shocking statements out into the world in order to see exactly what gets his cult into a frenzy of frothing excitement, but this…

This?

McConnell and McCarthy must feel gutted at this point, especially after being snubbed so openly by the parents of slain Capitol police officer, Brian Sicknick, at a Congressional Gold Medal event honoring him and his colleagues who fought “like hell” to keep Trump’s supporters from killing Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi, among others. Whether this was at Trump’s behest is the looming question, but with Special Counsel, Jack Smith, on the job now, what is coming down the pike, so to speak, is Trump’s worst nightmare. Once he is indicted and the Trial of the Century begins, he will have to stand before the whole world at long last and explain his seriously weird actions.

That will surely have the man tongue-tied and melting down into a swampy puddle so toxic that it will probably leave jurors gasping for breath.

After all, Trump knew his mob of supporters were armed and out for blood. With the leaders of the Oath Keepers now behind bars for decades for fomenting the violence at the Capitol on January 6, 2021: found guilty by a court of law for seditious conspiracy, is there any question that the disgraced ex-president might well join those thugs in prison?

If justice is truly served, he will. No question about it.

Meanwhile, after a very poor showing in the midterms, does the GOP leadership not know that their felonious fool of a leader is continuing to drag the party down into the deepest gutter imaginable? Of course, they do! So how can they not feel so utterly betrayed by the man that they must be quaking in their proverbial boots wondering what he is going to do next to ensure that their party will continue to be seen as the very antithesis of a party with values.

America has never seen anything like this in its entire history and there have been some pretty low points indeed, but this…

This?

The “Unwoke” had better wake up.

Trump’s seriously weird meltdown is proving volcanic and lethal on so many fronts that it is difficult, indeed, to keep track of them.
